You may not be her first, her last, or her only. She loved before she may love again. But if she loves you now, what else matters? She’s not perfect—you aren’t either, and the two of you may never be perfect together but if she can make you laugh, cause you to think twice, and admit to being human and making mistakes, hold onto her and give her the most you can. She may not be thinking about you every second of the day, but she will give you a part of her that she knows you can break—her heart. So don’t hurt her, don’t change her, don’t analyze and don’t expect more than she can give. Smile when she makes you happy, let her know when she makes you mad, and miss her when she’s not there.”

Stylin' | Oshkosh and Milwaukee Photographer

This session was actually kept quite simple with 3 outfits.  The hip hugger style was spot on and really flatters many.  What has become popular again and is perfect for these sessions is the body suits.  Here she had brought the black and a great sailor pinstripe style!

Girl Wash Your...| Oshkosh and Milwaukee Boudoir Photographer| Miss S

I have recently heard a lot about Girl Wash Your Face .  It took about a zillion times of mentioning this book before I had the chance this weekend to sit down and read it.

This book was A-mazing...Yo, all those lies we tell ourselves, especially as women.

Check out one of her quotes below!

So that got me thinking to this session.  This girl is an amazing Zumba instructor, mom and a woman I believe follows her own path.

She is fierce, has lots of sass (which I loooovee) and is simply beautiful inside and out.

I would love to chat with you.  You can always contact me here for more information about your own session!

Lifestyle boudoir

Planned, but casual...styled but with flow.  My goals for this photoshoot.

I've been pushing myself to capture even more of those intimate moments.  Those moments of zen and personal introspection.   Miss R did a beautiful job of trusting my vision.

My amazing hair and makeup artist, Kari, also helped me achieve a vision of a bit boho with fishtail braids and classy with a grey silk robe.  Two of my favorite combos...who knew.

Before makeup and posing & After

I've been bad about posting before and afters.  She is so beautiful before.  After is her rocking some posing, great lighting and having fun with professional hair and makeup.

See....look at those eyes pop!  Professional makeup is a great addition to your shoot.

We would love to here from you.  Email us here

I will let the images speak for themselves as to how stuuuuunnnning this girl is.  In addition, she is one of those clients I really enjoyed chatting with.  You know one of those people where it's so easy to talk to and just so much fun.   Yeah, that's her...seriously beautiful inside and out.

Miss M_Bridal boudoir for him and also for her

“What was your biggest fear before hiring me? Did it come true, and if not, what happened instead?”

My biggest fear is that I would be self-conscious and it would show in my pictures. I felt good after my pictures and excited to see them but I was also worried about what they would look like and that I would hate them. If I hated them, then I would worse about myself and it would have been a negative experience.

What, specifically, was your favorite part of the experience, and why?”

my favorite part was the photoshoot. I loved getting dolled up and having fake eyelashes. They really brought out my eyes and I wish I could look like that all the time. Rachel did a wonderful job of making me feel comfortable I my skin. We started out with basic poses and once she sensed I wasn’t nervous anymore then we did more risqué photos. That was fun. :)

I can’t wait to show my fiance before our wedding.

“If you were to recommend us to your best friend, what would you say?”

I would tell my friends and family that it made me feel empowered and that I am beautiful. I feel a lot of the times women don’t realize their beauty and it’s sad that it has to take a photoshoot for women to realize that but, now on days where I don’t feel good about myself, I know I have this to look back on and see that I am a beautiful, confident, and powerful woman.

Boudoir for the bold and sophisticated woman

I'm so happy she took the plunge and our dates and times connected because she deserved to document her courage and her strength as a woman as well as a mom.

A beautiful and timeless gift to give yourself.

Miss B was simply spectacular to shoot.  She brought a classic (with a bit of edge) black outfit to start with and added some fun texture with a cardigan, hello...simply gorgeous.

She also slipped into a light and elegant robe to add variety because hey, variety is fun:)

Her album is coming soon and I can't wait to share more.  I'm always so proud of my clients and she is another testament to how courageous women are.

Stepping out of your comfort...

I can be a bit impatient when it comes to getting things done.  Back in the day at a corporate office this served my employers well.  Here at home doing home projects, it doesn't always work well with a hubby who has other plans.

A year or so ago while waiting for the hubster to cut the piece of wood I needed and to drill the hole I needed to finish a project my impatience kicked in.  Dusting off some of that anxiety I had about using "big" tools, I took a deep breath and realized I needed to get over being scared of them if I wanted to move forward with anything project big or small.

Small steps turned into bigger steps.  I bought myself my own cordless drill, a table saw (love that thing) and went to work.  I opened up my world a bit and started just getting things done on my time and creating without limits....Finally.

Think about what's holding you back.  Is it limiting you in any way from accomplishing bigger things?

-swinging couch made my moi...

-table made by my dad years ago and due to some little shenanigans at 2 years old, I upholstered the top

Marcia Clark...

Browsing through Netflix series I could 1/2 watch while multitasking (for some reason, the background noise works), I happened upon the People vs. OJ Simpson.

I figured this would be a decent series to multitask to since I was glued to the t.v. when it was happening live and what more could I really learn?

Well the series has captured my attention more than I thought, more so for what is portrayed of Marcia Clark.  A mom of two kids, going through a divorce, while being the lead counsel on a high and demanding case.

To top it off, if that wasn't enough, the public thought it wise to comment on her hair and dress.

Holy shit...

While I've never gone through the divorce or been an attorney, I have worked at a demanding job that expected long hours, while having young children at home and a husband that traveled. Always trying to "keep up with the guys" at work who easily put in the hours.   I was criticized (behind my back which somehow made it worse) for having to leave work early due to sick kids and husband being gone.

Anyway back to Marcia, to have the workload on her shoulders, plus trying to be there for her kids and dealing with hands down to you.  I never knew at the time what you yourself had to deal with.  I think the workforce is becoming a bit more family friendly, but I'm not positive being my own boss now.  Please tell me it's gotten better...?

She has love and she has sass!

I've mentioned before how I gain so much from each client I meet.  Taking someone's image allows for some incredible bonding time.  So many things either in common or learned or both. Once again, I'm not disappointed with the amazing strength this woman has in personality and physically.  Thank you so much Miss. B for allowing me to capture you and having a blast together.

Your questions answered...

If you've been playing around in your head about doing a boudoir shoot but not quite there, I am answering some of the typical questions I get asked.

Who does a boudoir shoot?

I am always amazed and proud of every woman that comes through my door.  Each story is different.  A boudoir shoot is really for any woman that wants to remind themselves that they are beautiful and empowered.  Here is a list of some of my past clients:

  • Soon to be bride
  • College graduate
  • Single Moms
  • Cancer survivors
  • Mom with young children
  • Mom with teenagers
  • Women with tattoos
  • Business owners
  • Newly married
  • Women recently divorced
  • Women aging 19-60

Why did they do a shoot?

Every client has their own personal reasons whether they do this solely for themselves or for a significant other.  The one thing they all walk out with is knowing they are pretty darn amazing and they have created something that they can look at everyday to remember.

I am concerned about my family or co-worker finding out.

I do in person sales so your images are not uploaded and sitting in a gallery that someone may see.  Any images I post online to social media or my website is approved by the clients.  You choose if you want to share all or none of your images or just a few that you select.

Isn't this kinda...taboo?

There is a variety of imagery from history that showcases people smiling, laughing, kissing, showing off their muscles, etc.  The differences is, this is more special to you.  You get to showcase more facets of who you are, your vulnerability, your strength, your beauty, your sensuality, your humor. What you wear it to flatter you, but it's more than that... it's to show you're more than a mother, daughter, wife, sister, colleague, daily grinder. You are an empowerment within and we get to capture that.
